Armstrong Auditorium - Edmond, Oklahoma
Nestled on the campus of Herbert W. Armstrong College at 14400 S. Bryant Road, Armstrong Auditorium is a breathtaking performing arts venue that opened its doors in 2010. With seating for 823 guests, it has quickly become a cultural cornerstone in Edmond and throughout Oklahoma.
World-Class Design & Acoustics
The design of Armstrong Auditorium draws inspiration from the historic Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, California. It features 12 grand pillars, elegant Spanish marble, American cherry wood finishes, rich Persian onyx, and glimmering Baccarat and Swarovski crystal fixtures. Every element contributes to an atmosphere of timeless elegance.
The acoustics are among the finest in the region. With the furthest seat just 75 feet from the stage, the venue offers an intimate setting where every performance feels close and personal. Enhancing the visual appeal is a reflecting pool and the famous Swans in Flight sculpture by Sir David Wynne, adding an artistic touch to the already captivating exterior.
A Rich Cultural Legacy
Armstrong Auditorium is supported by the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation and the Philadelphia Church of God. It carries forward the cultural legacy of the original Ambassador Auditorium, even incorporating historic artifacts like a Hamburg Steinway concert grand piano and bronze swan sculptures that once graced campuses tied to the Ambassador legacy.
Inaugural Season & Prestigious Recognition
When it opened in 2010, Armstrong Auditorium launched with a stellar inaugural season that included performances from the Russian Ballet’s Swan Lake, the Vienna Boys Choir, the Band of Irish Guards, The King’s Singers, Canadian Brass, and renowned vocalists like Frederica von Stade and Samuel Ramey. Its dedication to excellence has earned it global recognition, including a TripSavvy Hall of Fame award in 2019, distinguishing it among the top 0.3% of reviewed arts venues worldwide.
The Visitor Experience
Every seat in the house offers acoustic clarity and a clear line of sight, making performances immersive from start to finish. The refined ambiance, featuring marble floors, wood-paneled walls, and stunning chandeliers, gives guests the sense that they’ve stepped into a world of high culture. Whether attending a jazz concert, classical symphony, or choral recital, visitors leave with memories of artistry and elegance.
